题目:Altermagnetism: A New Frontier for Multiferroics, Topotronics, and Quantum Computing

摘要:Altermagnetism has recently emerged as a versatile platform for discovering new physical phenomena and enabling next-generation spintronic and quantum devices. In this talk, I will discuss how altermagnetism, when combined with ferroic order, proximity effect, or band topology, opens new routes for symmetry-driven control of spin, valley, and quantum states. I will first show how integrating ferroelectricity (ferroelasticity) with altermagnets leads to a broad family of multiferroic altermagnets [1-6], including antiferroelectric [1], ferroelectric [2], molecular ferroelectric [3], and ferroelastic altermagnets [4], that enable electrically (mechanically) tunable spin polarization and altermagnetic spin field-effect transistors [5]. I will then highlight how altermagnetism can provide dual protection for topological states and flexible geometric control of spin and valley transport, opening new possibilities for topotronics [7]. Finally, I will show that in hybrid structures with superconductors, altermagnets can imprint their characteristic spin textures via the unique altermagnetic proximity effect [8], driving the emergence of topological superconductivity and offering promising pathways toward topological quantum computing [9].

简历:周通,宁波东方理工大学研究员、副教授、博士生导师;上海交通大学、中国科学技术大学兼职博导;入选国家级高层次人才、浙江省杰青、浙江省领军型双创团队负责人、宁波市特优人才;主持国家自然科学基金委面上、浙江省领雁课题、甬江人才工程等项目。博士毕业于复旦大学,曾任美国纽约州立大学布法罗分校研究科学家、研究助理教授;目前主要从事量子材料、量子计算与自旋电子学等研究,已发表SCI论文60余篇,其中一作/通讯作者论文20余篇,包括PRL (5)Nat. Mater.Nat.Commun. (2) , 研究成果多次入选PRL编辑推荐、年度精选论文,并被PhysicsPhys.orgAAAS EurekAlert!等国际著名媒体专题报道,论文谷歌学术引用3900余次,H-index 30, 多次受邀在APS March Meeting, SPIE, WINDS等国际知名学术会议上做邀请报告。
